Read to Them is a national not-for-profit whose mission is to create a culture of literacy in every home.  We do this primarily through our flagship family engagement program:  One School, One Book.

Mary Jo Warwick will share why librarians/media educators will want to spearhead these family engagement and literacy initiatives, along with the impact they can have on students, their families, and the school community at large.

Participants will learn the implementation and impact of the One School, One Book program and hear from Jenny Miller, Building Literacy Coach & Reading Interventionist in Ann Arbor Public Schools, about OSOB programs in her district, the most recent of which was part of an initiative to bring about more equitable educational experiences.

We will address the unique characteristics of all-school family reads, share information on rewards of families reading together, and provide a framework for successful events.
